[She really doesn't deserve this. His soft affirmations, his genteel acceptance of all her thorny outbursts. Honestly, the only reason he's so attached to her is because she let slip about her own memory loss. Without that connection he'd have moved on to more pleasant company and left her alone, as she should be.

Komaru would be proud of her though. Sickeningly so. See, I told you! The world isn't as cruel as you think it is!

Fukawa takes her own mug in hand and has a cautious sip. It's cooled considerably, but it's still palatable. The mug helps hide the way her mouth keeps trying to curl at the ends, buoyed by the bastard butterflies flying laps in her middle.]
