[THE QUEST. D would probably have a chuckle at poor Declan's expense if he knew the man would be flustered about this sort of place, though he wouldn't mean anything malicious by it.

It's fine, Uncle Dee! He will take care of Juniper.]

I'm here for the same. Everyone told me very interesting stories. Should we find a good place to room together? I will recount them along the way.

Oh, so you've been gathering information for some time then? Yes, let's go get a room!

[ scandalous... though her head is too empty for that to even occur to her... She offers D her arm. ]

[Oooo, she is so polite. He gladly takes her arm with his own, falling in line like they are two gossiping and shopping girlfriends.]

I saw some people hurrying away from here. They said all night they could hear wailing as loud as can be. One of them also said they thought someone had been possessed. It's quite strange. They did not seem to know what happened, though.

So I talked to a few workers who have been here a while. They said a courtesan and his lover were separated, and he died waiting for news from them.

[ YES. Spill the tea, D!! Juniper is doing her best to maneuver the streets without issue while also listening dutifully to D's findings, though by the time he gets to the end of what he knows so far, Juniper's arm has tightened against his, and her lips have pulled into a frown. ]

Oh, no... So the courtesan must be waiting in his afterlife, still... That's so sad...

[ Making a sad little humming sound as she adds: ]

Does anyone know what happened to the lover...?

[He does not sound, like, heartbroken over this, only factual, but he also doesn't sound completely callous. He gives his head a small shake to and fro.]

No one to whom I spoke knew of anything else. We might can find someone while getting a room. Or! [He smiles.] Maybe we'll meet this mournful courtesan on our own...

[ Juniper, on the other hand, would continue to sound heartbroken over this, but as Count D's insinuation that they may have a chance to meet the very ghostie himself finally clicks in her little bunny brain, her ears perk up fully at attention, her face going awestruck. An opportunity for a supernatural encounter!!

...In this virtual world that feels very real! (She hasn't completely wrapped her head around this aspect of it still.) ]
