[GOOD HEAVENS. It's so hard for him to not laugh. Not at Roland, but just at his exclamation choice. Help.

He laughs gently. For some reason, it's such a dismissive laugh!! Like this isn't a big deal at all!!]

She was alright. T-chan was extremely disheartened, but those are just his instincts. He can't help them. He got over it quickly as he began fighting with the detective after. He'll find a suitable mate one day, someone who will share his passion.

Share his passion . . . Would that mean consuming one another?

[He shudders inwardly at the thought. It's well and good that T-chan is so resilient, but the prospect of a perfect match seems to mean that the future will be short-lived.]

I don't know if it will be that drastic necessarily; however, there is always a chance if they see eye-to-eye on what pleases them the most.

[He really

talks about T-chan and this whole carnivore thing like it's something totally normal.]

Have you never felt that way before, Mr. Roland? About someone you care for. Not eating, of course, but... loving them with your entire being so much so it's difficult to separate who they are and who you are.

[Given D's profession, Roland reckons that he's accustomed to the shocking diversity of animals. As for himself, his ignorance may be the cause of his sadness when he thinks of T-chan's ephemeral happiness.

Perhaps that same ignorance feeds his confusion at the abstract love of which D speaks. He turns the question over in his mind, eyes flitting down in thought. A large part of him fails to grasp the concept while a small part of him stirs at the notion. Flashes of memory and the indignation they carry give him pause, and he lifts his refocused gaze after a protracted moment.]

[Hmmm. He watches Roland’s face (the only part he can really see), searching it as Roland tries to figure out his answer.

It makes sense Roland wouldn’t remember everything based on what Roland has already told him. He nods his head in acknowledgment with a slight smile.]

Well, I hope you come to remember something like it if that happens to be true.
